Workplace Accessibility in a Framework of Disability Justice

When we create workplace accessibility practices in a framework of disability justice—rather than a compliance model—we are on the way to creating workplaces that work for all workers’ bodies and minds.

This training will explore the different frameworks and assumptions that underlie workplace approaches to accessibility, how ableism shows up in status quo practices, and common problems and pitfalls. We will establish a basic understanding of disability justice as a framework that impacts all our lives, is connected to everyone's liberation, and has lessons that are core to how we understand ourselves and each other in the world; and explore how accessibility can make workplaces better for everyone. We will share tools, practices, and bold experiments that can challenge ableism and deepen access.
